For students to learn they must be able to understand and process ideas on many levels. Integrating the four learning styles and multiple intelligences lets students reinforce their learning in a method that works well for them. Silver, Strong and Perini define and explain the learning styles as follows. These activities allow us to do some differentiation in our classrooms.

P – Mastery Style (Sensing-Thinking)
Sensitivity To: Acts, details, physical actions, steps
Inclination For: Remembering, describing, manipulating, ordering.

A – Understanding Style (Intuitive-Thinking)
Sensitivity To: Patterns, ideas.
Inclination For: Analyzing, testing/proving, examining, connecting

E – Self-Expressive Style (Intuitive-Feeling)
Inclination For: Predicting/speculating, imagining, generating ideas.
Ability To: Develop original solutions, articulate ideas, express and create

I – Interpersonal Style (Sensing-Feeling)
Sensitivity To: experiences.
Inclination For: experiential learning.

We will have a booklet of 14 activities to explore. We will do one cut and paste with the group and make one flip book to organize notes on a topic.
