Materials science is the exploration of metals, ceramics, composites, and polymers. Learn how these concepts can help enhance your students understanding of materials in the world. We will be using blow torches to investigate structures under intense heat and how this changes chemical composition.

I spent two weeks working at the Pacific Northwest National Lab. I learned about the history of the nuclear program and what is being done with the waste.I have also begun learning about materials science. It is a great program that I would recommend to anyone.

I have been teaching science for over 25 years at Monroe High School. I have taught Chemistry, Geology, Physical Science, General Science and Biotechnology. I also teach in the summers with the Joint Science and Technology Institute.
