Teaching Science: The Next Generation

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Discrepant Phenomena, Inquiry, Problem Solving, and Engineering, OH, MY!! How do you start? How do you expose your students to these concepts? The NGSS and the Framework are about science for all students not a luxury to be experienced by only some. Guiding students through this process should not be a challenge because a strong science education empowers teachers to equip students with skills necessary for all careers. Science develops students’ abilities to think critically, make decisions, and a chance to use those skills to innovate something new! All students need strong foundational knowledge in science to tackle difficult and/or long-term issues that face both our generation and future generations.

Guiding students through this process should not be a challenge! Using three-dimensional learning will allow students to make sense of the phenomena and to design solutions to the problems. Take this opportunity to learn more about Next Generation Science Standards and take home activities to share with your staff. Time for discussion, options for customization, and questions during this session will be encouraged. References will be on hand and new content will be shared.
